It’s been a tough week here. Several pretty major things have all come at once, and we find ourselves caught up in the drama of them. So, my little things have become all the more important. A spark of light in amongst all the sighs, knotted tummies and endless to do lists.
A Little Bit Of Calm
Each month I attend a support group for mothers who have experienced postnatal depression or anxiety. Thankfully it was this week. We leant how to knit (or re-learnt in my case) and it was just what I needed. It took my mind off everything I was worrying about and focused my mind on something repetitive and completely absorbing. Bee had lots of other children to play with, and I had some time to myself. It was 2 hours of calm in an otherwise, pretty turbulent week.
A Little Reward
Bee and I like to trawl the local charity shops. Sometimes we find real treasures, more often than not, we don’t. This week I stumbled upon a lovely solid, montessori-style, wooden shapes jigsaw for £1.99. It’s always nice to have your efforts rewarded.
A Little Sign of Things To Come
The snowdrops are coming through. I love spring, and it seems to be on its way earlier than expected. Daffodils are being sold in the shops, so they must be out already down south, in January! Spring is like a new beginning, it makes me feel energised and excited. The days are getting longer and the flowers are starting to add a pop of colour to the winter grey.
What little things have made your week?
I bought some daffs, they really do make me smile. I am yet to see any snowdrops though – I shall have to keep my eyes open.

My mum taught me first time round, but I’ve never been much good. Determined to master it this time.

Really hope you’re ok lovely?! And glad that you’re finding appreciating the little things helpful while things are difficult. I’m loving all the signs of spring too, it’s a lovely glimpse of what’s to come isn’t it. Thanks for linking up #itsthelittlethingslinky xx
