Despite my cold persistently hanging around, this week has been a much brighter. The sun has been shining and the skies have been blue (mostly), which has led to me being outside more. I’ve walked lots this week, and I feel all the better for it. It’s these tastes of spring – sunshine, flowers, lent, a run of family birthdays – that excite and inspire me. I love spring, it’s my favourite season. It’s so full of promise, of new beginnings, of fresh starts. It makes me want to get on and do things. It’s the season of possibilities.
I had quite a few little things to choose from this week, but here are my favourites.
A Little Unplanned Fun
Some of the best days are those you don’t expect. And, certainly for me, some of the worst are the ones you plan down to the smallest detail, tempting failure with every expectation. Spontaneity doesn’t come easy to me, neither does surprise. But last weekend, I was in an unusually chilled out place, and a wonderful day unfolded. It wasn’t perfect. There were transportation hiccups and last-minute lunch venue changes. There were queues and very long waits for food. But none of that mattered. Lovely company, amazingly patient children, and a whole heap of cooperation and positivity made it an awesome day.
A Little Colour
I discovered a new cafe, on one of my many walks. And they served my tea and cake on the most gorgeous coloured crockery. It was so uplifting. I think colour can have a huge impact on mood. It was such a small thing, but made me so happy.
A Little Feature
Erin from Yorkshire Tots featured me on her blog, as her Yorkshire blogger for March. It’s my first feature and a big step in my blogging journey. I loved answering the questions, and they were the inspiration for writing my 25 Things To Do In West Yorkshire Before You’re Five post. Hopefully, it’s the first of many blogging milestones. Who knows where it will all go from here?
What have you been up to this week? What are your Little Things?
