Oh how quickly each week comes round. I see them racing by in front of me. Each week, Bee growing up just that little bit more. Sometimes its easy to find the Little Things, other times I have to search a bit harder. This week was a funny one.
A Little Clarity
My mind has been so full of house hunting to buy, and house hunting to rent, and Dan’s job, and trying for another baby that sometimes its been hard to breathe. Everything seems to have landed on us all at once. I’ve been trying to juggle multiple to do lists and not really succeeding at any. But talking it all through at the weekend, I now feel like we have a plan. A plan with several what ifs, but a plan no less. I have a clear next step and it’s a real weight lifted.
A Little Bit Lost
Bee and I got lost in the woods. We’d gone to meet friends, but as always were a little late. We walked for 45 minutes, in the rain. I’d forgotten the sling. Both Bee and I were wearing slippy, nothing-to-grip-on-to waterproofs. It was a disaster. I was sweaty, unfit and annoyed at myself. But then I looked down at Bee. We’d emerged at the opposite side of the woods, besides a canal, and were stood on an aqueduct over the river, watching trains go by on the nearby track. Bee was entranced. Rain and trains, muddy dogs and ducks. For her, it had been a grand adventure.
A Little Word Or Two
I’ve been fascinated with Bee’s language development of late. Words are coming so quickly, and she finds such glee in discovering them. This week she started putting words together. Usually to communicate something she wants. It began with the combination of nom-nom (food) and me, to make nomie. Then she combined mama and me, to make mamie. But my favourite combination is more whee. Most often heard at the park, when I’m trying to get her off the swings.
How has your week been? What were your Little Things?
